Sun Ra was an amazing jazzcomposer, pianist, synthesizer played and bandleader. He was well known for his phenomenal compositions and perfomances and his “cosmic afro-futurist philosophy” broughy him well deserved fame.
With his music he connected the African-American experience with the mythology of Ancient Egypt and space. He was an avant-garde musician and experimented with sound and instruments. He was a pioneer in the field of group improvisation and the use of electric instruments in jazz.
