Auther, Emerald Nelms’s latest book is titled, Lucevkin Dreams: Invasion
Book description: Karen Mutinex is a servant for the Lucevkin Dynasty. The Zargan Empire invades her home, and she is forced to serve an enemy prince. She has to learn to embrace her emotions and trust others, allowing her to start living her life as she should. Friendships bloom, and the adventure begins!
I posed my author questionnaire to, Emerald Nelms and these were her responses.
1. What inspired you to write this particular book? What was the spark or catalyst that got the story or idea flowing
A: This was initially a high school English project that became my life’s ultimate goal to finish. It took 16 years to write this trilogy but it is completely done.
2. Can you talk about a significant challenge you faced during the writing process and how you overcame it
A: The biggest challenge was being able to convey the emotions and how the characters feel going into different situations. I asked for multiple opinions and went with the general consensus.
3. What do you hope readers will take away from your book, and what kind of discussion or impact do you envision it having
A: I hope readers will take away the thought that there is a tomorrow even if it doesn’t look like there might be one. I want them to remember that you can rise above your start and make something of yourself. It’s what you learn along the journey that helps shape who you are.
4. How did your research (if applicable) shape the story or character development? Did you discover anything unexpected or fascinating during your research
A: I learned that writing from multiple perspectives is tricky but it can be done! It was fun to write from dual points of view. It was easy to make the story come to life when working with various characters.
5. What’s next for you? Are you working on any new projects, and if so, can you give us a sneak peek.
A: I have a new book in the works “Tyneri” is what I have it labeled as. It’s about a witch that has to break a family curse and the challenges that arise from such an undertaking.
