Lost In Scripture by Theodore Ambie-Barango
In Lost in Scripture, Theodore explores how he became disoriented by the Bible, the Church, and Christian teachings. With honesty, clarity, and a little vim, he invites readers to empathize with his doubt.
Theodore is a writer based in Edmonton, Canada. He publishes most of his work on his Patreon, @lostinscripture.
When he’s not writing, he’s cooking Nigerian food, skiing with his wife Kassandra, playing fetch with their dog Troy, or tending to their ever-growing jungle of plants and garden.

A very well-written book. The examples and analogies throughout are outstanding, making the author’s thoughts clear and engaging.
I connected deeply with many of the themes, having been raised in a Catholic family and experiencing much of what the author describes. I often found myself questioning aspects of Catholicism, and the book explores similar questions about the Bible and its teachings.
I recommend approaching it with an open mind—it reflects the author’s personal perspective, and you may not agree with every point. Still, each idea is presented with a thoughtful and reasonable explanation.
The chapter Telephone stood out to me in particular; it was beautifully crafted.
A great read for both believers and non-believers alike. I look forward to reading more from Theodore in the future.

Easily one of the best books I’ve read in a long time! I’m only about half way through but the way that the author finds a balance of explaining the stories of the bible and brining the reader along for the ride through his own journey out of religion is beautifully done! If I could give it 10/5 stars I would!
