I love your videos! I have a book recommendation for you. Eddie & Alan is written by black gay author Anthony Amiewalan. It sheds light on the complexities of relationships between men, the fluidity of sexuality, and what happens when the lines are blurred.

Such a fun and solid haul! Thank you for dropping in and serving us such good Black queer brilliance! ❤ I’m looking into Speculation right now.

Such a good video to be coming back to watching regular booktube to! I'm having a high pain day and figured some booktube videos might be good distraction. I'm definitely going to add a few to my ever-growing TBR. Speculation and The Space Between Worlds sound particularly up my alley. I feel like I've heard of The Space Between Worlds from several different people so that seems like one I should make a priority.

When you mentioned Maroons and Grievers I thought the name sounded familiar and I had to cross check and yes I had just read an essay by adrienne maree brown in a collection I'm reading "Beyond Survival: Strategies and Stories from the Transformative Justice Movement". Not a rec for getting out of a reading slump but definitely makes me extra interested in getting into reading adrienne's fiction as well.

So so good to see you back! You always help me grow my TBR 🙂 Looking forward to reading Octavia's Brood especially. I also struggle with trilogies and memory – I wait until a series is complete before I start, too. The covers of Speculation and Drinking from Graveyard Wells are so great and they sound incredible, picked those up too 😍 Thank you for bringing these books to my attention!

They all sound wonderful. I have a copy of Grievers – which I also have not read – and I'm delighted to see it has sequels. Like you I've been experiencing a reading slump, but it hasn't stopped me from adding to my to-read list!

First and foremost, Micaiah is lovely! And THE SPACE BETWEEN WORLDS is one of my favorites from 2021! Book is Queer, Feminist, Black, anti-Capitalist, and anti-Inperialist AF! I can't wait to hear your thoughts on it!

Great to see you back. Space Between Worlds was very good (debut novel). Currently doing a 3rd read of Delany's Dhalgren…such a masterpiece

Great to see you back on booktube! Love the glasses! I think I'm most interested in We're Here (short stories are fun) and Darkness

Great point about how speculative fiction is a way to discuss things that are being so heavily targeted for banning.
