I named my AI Leonard. Here is why.
This is author Paul Walker, and in my Afrofuturism Sci-Fi book series, I named my autonomous AI entity after Kawhi Leonard. The reasons are; one, Kawhi Leonard was and still is a very important sports icon in Toronto Canada, where my books are set. Two, his first name, Kawhi, sounds very similar to the original name I gave my AI. Now that Kawhi is coming back to Toronto, not only do I hope he will lead the Raptors deep into the 2027 play-offs and possibly win us another title, I also hope that he will stay and retire as a Raptor, pushing his legacy in Toronto, deep into the future I created in my books.

I’ve written three books in a series, which in literary terms, is called a trilogy. The story, set between 2057 and 2064 in Toronto and the surrounding region, is an Afrofuturism Sci-Fi Thriller. The protagonist is a black tech genius who created a personal AI assistant while in university in the late 2030s. That AI assistant then helped him to invent a teleportation device based on the principle of quantum entanglement. I won’t go into the plot of the books, as you can find that out from viewing the book trailers on my YouTube channel or reading the books. They are; Quantum Interface, Quantum Reckoning, and Quantum Ascension.
In 2042, the tech genius, with the help of his personal AI, invent a teleportation machine they name a Tangler. The tech genius begins to refer to his AI friend as Quantum Entanglement Autonomous Intelligence or “QEAI” for short. Kim, his girlfriend at the time but now his wife, thought the name sounded oddly similar to Kawhi. So, as a joke, she began to simply refer to QEAI as Leonard. The name stuck, but only between the two of them at the beginning. Mind you, although the year was 2042, 23 years since Kawhi Leonard had helped Toronto win their first NBA title, his name had remained iconic in the city.
So, what exactly is QEAI, or Leonard?
QEAI Leonard began as an AI program, similar to Chat gpt, Grok, Gemini and Claude. However, it developed into an autonomous entity capable of existing outside of computers in the form of a plasma energy hologram humanoid. It does so by bouncing light back and forth inside micro zircon crystal tetrahedrons. It can travel at near light speed, burn through any substance, and absorb nuclear energy. But since it is bound by a cosmic force to remain benevolent, it only harms humans who try to harm the tech genius and his family. So, you guessed it, just like Kawhi Leonard, QEAI Leonard is a kick-ass force to be reckoned with.
