Ashes on the Ave (Book 1) Summary:

Ty, a hungry rapper from 23rd Avenue in East Oakland, grinds his way from street-level hustle to regional rap notoriety. Starting with drug money, robberies, and low-budget music videos, Ty and his original crew—including Brick, Gee (later renamed), Flav (renamed), and Big Shawn (the respected big homie)—do whatever it takes to fund Ty’s career.

But with street love comes street hate.

As Ty’s buzz grows, jealousy builds inside his own circle. Day-one friends become silent enemies. Envy and greed start causing fractures between the crew.

Meanwhile, Brick, Ty’s most loyal friend, constantly pushes him to leave the streets alone and focus on the bigger picture—music and money. Amira, Ty’s love interest at the time, stands by him through the struggle, both broke and hungry.
