I read the Vanishing Half. I felt the ending was too simple for such a complex story.
can anyone reading this tell me, are there any recent novels which have the vibe of Iceberg Slim's work?
I love Priscilla Shirer. I definitely need to read more of her books! I love that you added faith based books to these recs.
I found tour videos on accident and I love it lol. You just gave me so many new books I wanna read and I can't wait!
Question: have you read "My Sister, the Serial Killer" by Oyinkan Braithwaite I really recommend it
Omg, thank you girl! I was in a reading slump and needed these recs!
I got unreasonably excited when you kept mentioning Kalynn Bayron. Loved how you put this list together… definitely adding a few more to my tbr. I was also happy that I had either read or heard of… it makes me hopeful that publishing can improve and stop hiding the good books from us based on no good reason!
You HAVE to read Alexis Henderson’s The Year of the Witching!!!
So many great recommendations & am happy that the only 2 Fantasy books that I have ever read were part of this list 🙌🏾.
Slay is such an amazing book!!
Thank you sm 🫶🏾🫶🏾
Hi! stumbled upon your page and I am glad I did! I love that you were able to recommend books by black Authors but also emphasis on authors from the mother land and the Caribbean. I have a couple of them on my TBR already but added the ones I didn't have on my TBR. Oh and loved the middle grade recs! Thank you!
Loved Legendborn and Bloodmarked! Thank you for including so many middle grade books as well – I'm a teacher and I'm always looking for new books for my classroom library or read alouds 😊I feel like it's an age range that a lot of people skip over or lump in with YA and not all of my readers are ready for YA yet.
I think you would enjoy The Canopy Keepers by Veronica G. Henry
Some Books I loved this year from black authors
Quilt of Souls by Phyllis Biffle Elmore (highly suggest)
Track Record by George The Poet
The Queen of Sugar Hill – a novel about Hattie McDaniel by Lynnette R Freeman
Mourning Glory By LL Mckinney
I read Witches Steeped in Gold last summer and it was amazing. Big recommendation for the fantasy girlies. I have read some of the more popular books on your list but I am definitely going to check out more like The Rage of Dragons and Tinderbox
Girl, thank you for these soo many fantasy books that I missed – and FANTASY is my favourite 😂
Woohoo Amazing ! Thank you so much!
I’m a romance girlie myself , happy to see you included some in your recommendations. Can’t wait to read them.
